The Royal "Once Upon A Mattress" Frogs that turn into princes, dragons, royal kings, queens and noble knights - fairy tales with such motifs are a universally enjoyed genre. Fairy tales are especially beloved for their ability to be dramatic, sweet, romantic and comical. Our 2007 Cazenovia Junior High cast is sure to win your hearts in their presentation of an antic musical inspired by The Princess and the Pea. ONCE UPON A MATTRESS is the hilarious musical story of romance in a fantasy kingdom. The Minstrel (Ben Langey) and Court Jester (Marian Foster) narrate the tale of a mute King (Ryan Grabosky) and his talkative Queen (Makaily Courtwright) who jealously protects her son Prince Dauntless (Ian Abernathy) from marrying any eligible princess, and will not allow anyone else in the kingdom to wed until her son does. Sir Harry (Brandon Swart) and Larken (Megan Vanetti), anxious to marry, decide to take matters into their own hands. Harry searches for a potential bride outside the kingdom and discovers Princess Winnifred (Kelly Dougherty) from a faraway land. Unfortunately for potential brides, Queen Aggravain and her accomplice, the eccentric wizard (Charlie McDonald), give the hopeful young ladies more than they expect!
