The story goes...Professor Hill
has developed a reputation among traveling salesmen
- all bad! In order to sell his band
instruments and uniforms, he promises to form a
local student band. After he's paid off it's
a fast freight and no band. He is active once
again in River City, Iowa! This musical
captures all the nostalgia and warmth inherent in a
story of a small midwestern town in the early days
of the century. The show is brimming with
glorious musical numbers as Trouble, The Wells Faro
Wagon, Gary, Indiana, and Seventy-Six
Trombones.
The show featured the talents of
many 7th and 8th grade Cazenovia students including
Nick Kirsch as the cunning Harold Hill, Kyle Emmons
as Mayor Shinn, Lizzie McGuire as Mrs. Shinn,
Charlie Bartlett as Marcellus, Sarah Naughton as
Marion the Librarian, Patrick Allen, Terence
Hartnett, Robert Taube and Ben Wightman as members
of the Town Board, Ben McKinney as the salesman
Charlie, Lauren Bookbinders as Amaryllis, and Julie
Ball and Balen Druke as Mrs. Paroo and her son
Winthrop, Lauren Kelsen as Zaneeta and Travis
Jaquith as Tommy, the teen sweethearts!
The production was directed by
Ellen Dougherty and Joan Stoker. The
choreography was by Susan Hebert, set design by
Leslie Milin and costumes by Lou Ann Turner.
The production was accompanied by Debbie
Cunningham and Kathy DiNardo.
