Principal’s Message

Dear Parents,
As we look toward a new year in the 21st
Century, we feel very grateful for the many gifts
our community provides. We have excellent
parent support and students who provide us
with many enjoyable moments as we watch
them grow. I wish you a very happy and
healthy holiday season and hope that you are
able to spend some quality time with those you
love.
The Middle School has many exciting events
during December. Please keep the attached
calendar and use it as a reference. We hope that
you will be able to join us at our concert on
December 7. Parent conferences are December
15 and interim reports will be mailed home on
December 27. If you have questions or concerns
regarding your child’s progress, please contact
the appropriate teacher.
Please remember to send notes in with your
child if he/she is late to school, absent or needs to
be excused during the day. This is very helpful
for us as we monitor attendance. It is also helpful
if you check with your children before they leave
for school to make sure they are dressed
appropriately. Our students still go outside for
recess and it is important that they have proper
warm clothing. Your cooperation with both of
these issues is appreciated!
Happy Holidays to All!

What a treat it was to hear family therapist
Mike Lynch explain what is going on inside our
preteen’s heads! Whew - no wonder
communication is not always easy. Mike
answered the many questions that we had.
Thanks to all that attended. Watch the
Messenger for the date and time of Mike’s
return.
The High School PTA will be sponsoring
another speaker in our series in January. Family
Therapist Paul Goggi’s topic will be
“Understanding Your Teen” and will be
presented in the High School Library on
Wednesday, January 17th at 7:00 pm. Paul is a
dynamic speaker with common sense answers to
parenting questions and concerns. All are
welcome.
Delivery of our fundraiser products is
expected the first week of December. Watch for
your goodies to come home and thanks again for
all of your support.
We have been researching new playground
equipment as what we have is in need of
replacement. Please share your thoughts and
ideas on this with us.
Have a safe and happy holiday season.

Health Office Hype

I hope everyone had a wonderful
Thanksgiving. It’s hard to believe the holidays
are upon us already. It’s such an exciting yet
stressful time, so try to keep the joy and
anticipation without losing the normalcy of
routine and bedtimes.
Attention all 7th grade parents. I have at least
the first Hepatitis shot on all students which
allows them to be in school. Now I need the
dates of the second or even third shot so that
your child may remain in school. New York
State mandates that we have proof, in writing,
from your doctor or clinic that the series is being
completed. Please be sure to send in a note from
your doctor or clinic each time your child has
their injection. Many of the children should have
received their second shot in October. If you
have already done this, please call your doctor
and ask him/her to fax the Health Office with the
exact date. The school fax number is 655-5305.
