Write only one idea from one source on each note card.

You may have several note cards from one source. You

should number each one in addition to listing the letter of the

source from which it came. Let’s say that you took five

pieces of in formation from one source. In the upper right

corner of the cards, you would write A-1, A-2, A-3, A-4,

and A-5.

A slug is the single word which should appear at the top of

each note card indicating the topic of information on that

particular card. You should probably have a slug for each

section of your outline.
