A total of 22 units are required for graduation from Cazenovia High School. All students must carry at least six courses per semester, in addition to physical education. Minimum Graduation Requirements: ![]() *Note: Students seeking an Advanced Regents Diploma who pursue a 5-unit sequence in Art, Music, Fine Art, or Career and Technical Education may replace the foreign language requirement. *However, the Counseling Office recommends that each student pursue a foreign language in high school. Many colleges/universities throughout the country require foreign language for acceptance into college as well as part of their academic curriculum. For additional information please see http://www.aiusa.com/otoole/results.htm To qualify for graduation all students who entered 9th grade by September 2004 must pass the exams as outlined below with a 55% for a local high school diploma. For a Regents diploma, students must obtain 65% or better on Regents in all 5 areas.
· RE in Comprehensive English · RE in Math A or Integrated Algebra · RE in Global History and Geography · RE in U.S. History and Government · RE in One Science
For an Advanced Regents Diploma, a 65% in all five areas as well as a Foreign Language Regents, Math B Regents, and a second Science Regents are required. A Diploma With Honors is awarded if Regents exam scores average 90% or higher. For students entering Grade 9 in 2005: Local diploma students must have at least two scores at 65 or above on the five required Regents exams and all scores above 55. For Students entering Grade 9 in 2006: Local diploma students must have at least three scores at 65 or above on the five required Regents exams and all scores at 55 or above. For students entering Grade 9 in 2007: Local diplomas students must have at least four scores at 65 or above on all five required Regents exams and all scores at 55 or above. For students entering grade 9 in 2008 and Thereafter: All students must pass all five required Regents exams with a score of 65 or above.
