Welcome to the Middle School

(from page 1)
In view of this you can imagine the
work that is involved in forming each
class list. If it is in our control, our
classrooms are a fine mix of all kinds of
children with differing strengths and
weaknesses. Successful schools have
classrooms made up of a diverse group
of children with teachers who have a
repertoire of skills, tools and strategies
to reach all children.
We ask that parents do not request
specific teachers because it prevents us
from doing what we need to do to make
balanced classrooms. Rather than
selecting your child’s teacher, we ask
that you specifically “not select” one. In
this way, we can continue to design the
well-balanced classrooms that we know
are educationally sound and, at the
same time, give the parents an
opportunity to be part of the process.
We appreciate and thank you for
your anticipated cooperation. Enjoy all
of the great activities that June brings
and have a wonderful summer!

On Thursday, June 15th, at 7:00 pm there will be a “Welcome to the
Middle School” orientation. The purpose of this program is to acquaint the 4th
grade students and their parents with the Middle School facilities, the 5th
grade schedule, and daily activities, the 5th grade teachers and the special
programs and services that will be available next year. Please note below the
schedule for the evening.
We hope that you will come and join us for the evening and that many of
your questions will be answered. We are looking forward to meeting you and
your child.

(Health Room from page 1)

Tylenol and/or acetaminophen with just a parent
permission slip. The next time you visit your doctor, have
him write an order for what ever pain medication your child
is accustom to taking, attach a parent permission slip, and
drop off the paperwork with a container of the prescribed
pain medication for your child in school. Often children with
a headache and no fever can get through the day with
some pain relief.
I will be sending home the last reminders (green
slips) for overdue excuses. If your child has recieved one,
please fill it out even if you may have already sent in an
excuse.
